Hillary's New Plan
Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Sensing that the tide may be turning, Hillary Clinton has begun to make quiet overtures signaling her willingness to accept the number two spot on an Obama-Clinton ticket. According to sources close to her, she has already started to retool her campaign in preparation for securing that spot, or for the possibility of being offered a high-ranking cabinet post such as secretary of state or even a newly created internal post.
Or, should the above fail, she has also begun to discretely probe her chances of securing a spot as the White House general handyman, and has indicated she would gladly spearhead an initiative to install better insulation in the Oval Office as part of an overall strategy of increased energy conservation at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Should this position already be filled or otherwise unavailable, according to an aide speaking on condition of anonymity, Hillary has also volunteered her name for consideration to mow the White House lawn and take night shift at the guard gate.
Perhaps significantly, aides have also recently stressed that there are currently "no laws limiting the number of consecutive white house tours" a US citizen may take. And in what may signal a new approach to the White House, Ms. Clinton has retained a top Washington law firm to explore the precise property boundaries where the White House ends and the public street viewing area begins, while neighbors at 1599 and 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue have also reported receiving anonymous inquiries from local real estate brokers claiming to represent a "very, very motivated buyer".
